Description: United Way UK will launch a collective programme of financial literacy and job readiness training in the greater London area in October 2019. The programme will run over the course of three years and will rely on multiple charity or SME partners to achieve its stated goals.  The programme is funded in full by a large financial services company with offices in London and around the world. The purpose of these grants is to support ongoing programmes of established charities.

The aims of the programme are to:

  1. Increase the income & savings of 400 individuals through training and job readiness programming;
  2. Demonstrate that 100 individuals have repaid loans through increased financial skills;
  3. Place 50 individuals directly in employment through referral services.
  4. United Way UK will engage a total of three partner organisations with the goal of each to achieve a single aim of the programme.

A prospective partner should be a charitable, voluntary, social or small enterprise with the stated goals of improving lives through financial literacy or job readiness training. Prospective partners should currently offer similar services in line with the stated goals. The tender funds should support and allow for expansion of already active services in the Greater London Area.

United Way UK intends to measure the collective successes of the programme through comparative surveys of service users. Successful applicants will be required to report progress on a quarterly basis to United Way UK.

Applicant organizations are invited to apply to fulfil one or multiple targets through their ongoing programming. A full application form is listed below.
